General Manager

What You’ll Do (Because You’ve Done This Before)
As General Manager, you are the heartbeat of the restaurant. You’re visible, engaged, and in control.
Lead from the Floor
- Work the floor during peak times—greeting guests, supporting staff, running food, and ensuring service flows smoothly
- Set the tone for hospitality and create regulars, not just transactions
- Step in, solve problems, and turn challenges into wins
Build & Lead a Winning Team
- Hire, train, develop, coach, and retain a strong team of managers and hourly employees
- Create a positive, accountable culture with high morale and high standards
- Communicate clearly and consistently with your team—no surprises, no confusion
- Handle performance issues confidently and professionally when needed
Run the Business
- Create and manage schedules that balance service, labor targets, and team well-being
- Control labor costs, review punches, and adjust staffing based on volume—shift by shift
- Manage food, liquor, beer, wine, and dry goods inventory with precision
- Compile weekly P&Ls and confidently present monthly financials to leadership
- Complete special projects and reports as requested by senior leadership
Own Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with all alcohol laws and TNABC regulations
- Maintain an up-to-date ABC binder and verify valid ABC cards for all applicable staff
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and health department standards
- Train and hold the team accountable to company policies and operational expectations
Be the Problem Solver
- Address guest, employee, vendor, and property concerns with professionalism and urgency
- Stay calm under pressure and lead with confidence—even when things get busy
What We’re Looking For
You’re not new to this. You’re ready to lead.
- 3+ years of full-service restaurant General Manager or Restaurant Manager experience
- Strong leadership presence and the confidence to make decisions
- Proven ability to manage people, operations, and finances simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal
- Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven
- Comfortable with restaurant systems and reporting
(MS Office required; One POS a)
- ServSafe® or equivalent food safety certification preferred
- Able to meet physical demands of restaurant leadership (on your feet, active, hands-on)

Our History
Huey’s has served up Blues, Brews & Burgers in the Mid-South for more than 50 years. Originally opening its doors in Midtown in 1970, this family-owned restaurant is best known for being voted the Best Burger in Memphis since 1984. For more than 30 years, longtime owner Thomas Boggs poured his heart and soul into Huey’s, building a legacy that is carried on by his children today.
